ABOUT ME

I provide a confidential, professional, and compassionate service offering support through counselling, clinical supervision, and critical incident stress management (CISM).

Whether you are seeking personal therapy, professional supervision, or post-incident psychological support, my aim is to offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be heard, understood, and supported towards recovery, growth, and resilience.

Counselling

Confidential and Compassionate Counselling

I offer a confidential, non-judgemental counselling service for individuals and couples.
Our sessions provide a regular space and time to explore life’s challenges, helping you find new ways to live with greater clarity, balance, and fulfilment.

As an integrative counsellor, I believe that therapy should be as individual as you are. There is no single approach that fits everyone — so I draw on a range of techniques, tailoring each session to your unique needs and circumstances. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship — built on trust, empathy, and respect.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy:

  • Short-term therapy may suit you if you’d like to focus on one specific issue.

  • Long-term therapy allows for deeper exploration of patterns, experiences, and personal growth.

We can explore what feels most suitable during our initial session.

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision to qualified counsellors, trainee therapists, and professionals within the wider helping professions.

My supervision practice is grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins & Shohet) a relational and reflective approach exploring the therapeutic process across client, practitioner, and systemic levels.

This model encourages ethical, reflective practice and ongoing professional development. Whether supporting student counsellors, quailfied counsellors, youth workers, or experienced practitioners, I provide a collaborative, supportive space where insight can grow and confidence can deepen.

I offer both individual and group supervision, tailored to your developmental stage, modality, and context.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)

Supporting Recovery and Resilience After Critical Events

In addition to counselling, I provide Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), a structured, evidence-informed approach designed to help individuals and groups manage the emotional impact of critical or traumatic incidents.

CISM aims to support emotional recovery, promote resilience, and reduce the risk of long-term psychological harm following exposure to distressing events. These interventions can be provided to workplaces, frontline services, community organisations, or individuals.

I am trained and experienced in the following CISM components:

  • SAFER-R Model – practical psychological first aid and early intervention

  • Psychological First Aid (PFA) – immediate emotional and practical support following a critical event

  • Defusing – short, informal discussions shortly after an incident to help stabilise and process reactions

  • Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) – structured group process supporting those directly affected by a critical incident

These processes offer compassionate, structured support to those affected by traumatic events, helping restore stability and wellbeing in the aftermath of crisis.

Experience

I began my counselling journey in 2011, training with Cruse Bereavement Care to work with adults, children, and young people facing grief and loss. Since then, I have expanded my skills through roles with:

  • RelateNI – working with couples and individuals

  • RNIB’s Need to Talk Project (NTT) – providing telephone counselling

  • Familyworks – post-primary school counselling

  • Jigsaw Project – primary school counselling

  • Various community counselling HUB settings before establishing my own private practice

I am also an associate counsellor for Lena (formerly Inspire), a leading provider of workplace wellbeing solutions delivering therapeutic interventions to private, public, and third-sector organisations. This includes work within the Self Harm Intervention Programme (SHIP) and Bright Futures Programme. I also provide an associate role for other organisations, such as Health Hero.
